CHILDREN’S OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY Queensland, provides professional, evidence based practice and fun  occupational therapy services on the Gold Coast at our Nerang Clinic, Queensland, Australia.

Here, children have the opportunity to explore their milestone development through the use of natural play schemes in an enriched sensory-motor environment.

Our Mission Statement: To enhance the functional participation of children aged (0-16 yrs) in all aspect of daily living. This includes home, school and community. Children’s daily living skills include self care, motor skills,  play, school, social, participation, inclusion, values, beliefs, sense of belonging and self esteem.

Our professional staff consists of registered Occupational Therapists who specialize in a number of therapeutic interventions to increase the functional participation of the child.

Occupational Therapy involves the therapeutic use of purposeful activities to assist with development, learning, social, motor skills, self-care and play. Activities focus on improving the child’s occupational roles, sensory, physical, academic, social and emotional abilities. We also assess external and environmental restrictions.

Occupational therapists work with children with any condition, disability or impairment that affects their ability to perform everyday activities. This includes:

  • Neurological impairments (e.g. cerebral palsy)
  • Physical disabilities (e.g. spina bifida)
  • Developmental delay and disabilities
  • Learning disabilities
  • Psychosocial problems (e.g. behavioral, chronic illness, psychiatric disorders)

Occupational therapists work in partnership with the child, their parents and other important people in the child’s life such as their doctor, teacher and other health professionals.
