Bonnie Lee

Bonnie Lee was born in New Zealand and moved to the Gold Coast in February 2010.

Bonnie has always had a passion for working with children. She completed her certificate in Early Childhood in 2002. During her time working in a special needs unit at Red Beach school in New Zealand, she found an interest in occupational therapy. She worked one on one with special needs children and interacted regularly with the unit’s assigned occupational therapist.

During her Overseas Employment Bonnie spent time in India where she realized she wanted to develop skills to help those who are restricted or at a disadvantage, gain a better quality of life.

In 2006 she returned to NZ and completed a Bachelor of Health Science degree majoring in Occupational Therapy.

Bonnie has an interest in and experience working with a variety of conditions including; Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD), Autism (ASD), Aspergers Syndrome, Cornelia de Lange Syndrome and Sensory Processing Disorder(SPD).

Bonnie has been apart of the team for over a year and enjoys supporting families through meaningful play based therapy enabling their child to be as independent as possible and to be able to engage in everyday meaningful activities to the best of their abilities.

Bonnie has completed the following courses;  Move to Learn,  The Alert Program – How does your engine run?, Visual Processing with Dr. Chris Chapparo and various workshops and seminars on Autism, Aspergers Syndrome, PECS communication and Makaton sign language.
